Taylor Wiseman & Taylor prepared the initial planning studies and sewerage facilities master plan for the proposed 4,500 unit residential/commercial development project in Woolwich Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Woolwich Township has been one of the fastest growing communities in the country. The summary of the Master Plan provided for the interim use of adjoining existing facilities with partial capacity, which allowed the proposed community and the supporting wastewater infrastructure to be constructed when needed, allowing for deferring major expenditures over time as the community grows.
The project included hydraulic modeling and analysis of existing major trunklines, interceptors, and pumping stations. Proposed facilities for the collection and transmission of wastewater ranged from 8-inch gravity sewers to 21-inch trunklines and pumping stations with capacity of approximately 2,000 gallons per minute.
