Requirements:

Responsibilities

• Complete AutoCad Assignments
• Preparation of ALTA and Boundary surveys
• Research Records for boundary (deeds and maps), title and utility locations
• Preparation of Deed Mosaics
• Preparation of Final Subdivision Maps
• Preparation of construction layout computations
• Processing and filing of survey data files, field notes, photos, sketches
• Preparation of Legal Descriptions
• Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of a project

Requirements:
• The selected candidates should have 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
• Performs all types of surveys, including, but not limited to, construction staking, as-built, ALTA, topographic, boundary and subdivision surveys
• Experience with electronic total station, robotics, data collectors and GPS equipment.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and property deeds and maps.
• Ability to perform horizontal and vertical survey calculations.
• Ability to work and interact with design engineers, clients, contractors and the general public
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to take and give direction
• Valid Driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and without close supervision
• Evaluate projects in the field to proceed with the most efficient survey method.
• Uses and enforces proper safety equipment and follows proper safety procedures.
• 40 HR OSHA Certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Carlson or similar programs, is a plus.

Responsibilities:
• Ability to operate as a 1-man crew using robotic and/or GPS/GNSS for construction staking, topographic surveys and boundary surveys
• Ability to supervise a 2-man or 3-man crew, when needed
• Boundary and utility investigations
• Ensures that all data is downloaded on a daily basis (if needed), reviews each day’s work and records
• Performs sufficient checks in the field and records electronically and/or in field notes
• Organization skills
• Communicate with the client and project team to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of project
• Ensures proper vehicle and equipment maintenance.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a project surveyor or in a supervisory capacity
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D. Experience with Microstation or Carlson Survey is a plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience with processing GPS data. Prior use of Trimble Business Center (TBC) is a plus
• Wide range of experience in all types of surveys and construction layout
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, yet follow defined procedures within reason
• Field experience as Party Chief and willing to perform field work as needed is a plus
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record
• Desire to pursue a career in Land Surveying, as witnessed through current degreed program in survey or having attained LSIT, or Professional License is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate daily activities of at least one field crew and or survey technician
• Responsible for budgeting, project cost control and meeting project schedules and billing
• Processing and filing of survey data files, field notes, photos, sketches
• Perform CAD work to create and finalize survey drawings
• Use Excel and other survey programs to process, verify data, and run reports
• Perform daily downloads of data collector files
• Research deeds and maps, perform boundary analysis and determinations
• Interface and report to Principal Land Surveyor or project managers as assigned to a project
• Interact with Clients, and other professionals

This individual is responsible for the overall success of projects, including budgeting, client satisfaction, and delivering a quality product.  A successful Environmental Services Project Manager will be able to collaborate with clients and provide technical solutions and reports.  In addition to the technical work, this position includes managing budgets, tasks, and schedules.

Required education and experience:

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and or environmental consulting.

Preferred education and experience:

  • B.S. in Geology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering with course work in geology, hydrogeology, and/or soils.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering or environmental consulting, and project management
  • P.G. license in good standing

Essential Functions:

  • Develops the workplans, budgets and schedules for small projects
  • Conduct and oversee fieldwork and data collection
  • Authoring technical reports and work products
  • Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, and review agencies
  • QA/QC projects prior to submission to review agencies
  • Attends meetings with clients and public entities
  • Calm and professional presentation under stressful conditions, such as public meetings

Competencies:

  • Proficient oral and written presentation skills
  • Possess skills to negotiate critical project related issues
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiar with NJDEP Site Remediation Program guidance and policy
  • Familiar with soil evaluation for stormwater BMP design
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills
  • Able to interact professionally with clients, reviewers, and field personnel
